Taking influence from the likes of The Germs, Black Flag and the Cramps, theirs is a sound that combines garage rock and west coast punk. One not to miss! Bird Creatures Of Love + Abigail Hardiman Saturday 2nd March Three piece Liverpool band Bird is the creation of Adele Emmas, Sian Williams and Alexis Samata. Together they create dark, haunting, atmospheric music which will entice you in to their magical, other worldly universe. With beautiful, siren-esque vocals, tribal, hypnotic drum beats and spellbinding guitar work, Bird are refreshingly unlike anything that's currently on the music scene.   The Men Parquet Courts Tuesday 19th March Brooklyn's noise punk/garage rock band The Men released their "We are The Men" 12" EP in 2009, the "Immaculada" LP in 2010 as well as a split cassette with Nomos, and in 2011 their second LP, "Leave Home". In 2012, they released their third record, "Open Your Heart" to much acclaim and are live at The Garage this March. They're live at the Garage this March!   Summerlin A Season Of Secrets + Thousand Autumns + Odd Squad Thursday 4th April Formed in late 2008, Summerlin's classic pop-punk takes influence from Blink-182, New Found Glory and the Offspring. The band began writing material with a sound that combined pop-punk with the harder elements they also loved. Early tours began in the U.K. and Europe, climaxing with an appearance at the 2011 Slam Dunk Festival, alongside the likes of Less Than Jake, The Starting Line, Goldfinger, Anti-Flag and Set Your Goals. Gaz Coombes Thursday 25th April After the success of his critically acclaimed debut solo album "Gaz Coombes presents... Here Come the Bombs", Gaz hits up the Garage in April! From the ethereally dreamy "Bombs" to the exuberant "Break the Silence" Coombes' explores the unexpected whilst maintaining the famous love of melody that marked some of Supergrass' finest moments.   The Rend Collective Ben Cantelon Sunday 5th May Rend Collective Experiment was established in roughly 2002 to 2003 with the concept of trying to figure out the purpose of their lives. So, about 15 people started a Collective to try to reinvent worship in our contemporary culture, but the band comprises six members that tours and makes the albums. The rest are there for support and to encourage the band "spiritually, musically, and missionally." Furthermore, they saw in the environment some people have a sheer hostility to church and/or Christians, so they sought to create music to draw them in spiritually and get them to come to church just to hang out. The Besnard Lakes Tuesday 28th May The Besnard Lakes' latest album "Until in Excess, Imperceptible UFO" had its humble beginnings in mid-2011 and was completed over the course of a year. Ever mindful and attentive to the most subtle and nuanced details, the band produced, recorded and mixed the album at their own studios in Montreal. This fourth album by The Besnard Lakes' features heavyweight additions by Moonface's Spencer Krug and Mike Bigelow, The Barr Brothers' Sarah Page, the always-enchanting Monica Guenter and the return of Fifth String Liberation Singers' Choir.   And So I Watch You From Afar Tuesday 16th April Known for their unrelenting tours that has seen them play over 300 gigs since the start of 2009, Belfast's And So I Watch You From Afar (ASIWYFA to their fans) don't know how to take a break. The instrumental band have been on the road playing music non-stop since the release of their fan-stirring debut self-titled album. They're live in London this April in celebration of their new album "Gangs". Republica Tenek + Kovac Thursday 14th March Formed in 1994, Republica achieved of over 3 million album sales, with their hit single "Ready To Go" going to no. 1 in 18 countries and follow up single "Drop Dead Gorgeous" used as the theme tune for the hit horror movie Scream. They're back for 2013 and hitting the Garage do NOT miss this!   Gabby Young & Other Animals + Fiona Bevan + Koukie Saturday 16th March Gabby Young's avant-garde fusion of globally-influenced folk combines Balkan brass, jazz and swing in an aural antiques shop from the future. Her first album topped both Amazon UK's folk and rock download charts and she's now back with second album "The Band Called Out For More" catch her (on her birthday!) live at the Garage! Lumiere + Christof Monday 4th March Together as Lumiere, they offer a distinctly feminine sound and feel, where voice is the primary instrument and Ireland as motherland is re-imagined. With Lumiere, the song and its delivery are the primary focus, technical concerns give way to feeling as song and singer effortlessly merge.   Dave Giles Saturday 16th February Since departing his band The Rileys in 2010, Dave Giles has toured relentlessly and built up a solid fan base. His musical style is casual and slightly, yet wonderfully juvenile. Drawing inspiration from idol, Billy Bragg, Glies' music is a form of folk, acoustic rock with his own twist. Always the shepherd and never the sheep, Giles' performance on stage is always unpredictable and innovative. For 30 years they've been producing high quality music, their background being top-class reggae; they have played hundreds and hundreds of concerts, have taken part to a good number of international festivals, and have released 15 albums, establishing as one of the most prestigious and popular Italian reggae bands.
