Andy Burrows Saturday 23rd February A supremely talented songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Andy Burrows first came to attention as the drummer for Razorlight. Now a full time member of We Are Scientists, he has been hard at work on his own material, the result of which is "Company". Here he embraces a straight-ahead approach, building an album steeped in rock classicism and raw, melancholic melodies.   Gabrielle Aplin Thursday 14th March 19-year-old Internet sensation Gabrielle Aplin embarks on her 6th headline UK tour this March, bringing her mesmerising voice to the hmv Institute. Her jaw-dropping cover of "The Power of Love" is currently being used on the John Lewis Christmas advert and has rocketed Gabrielle into the top 5 of the singles chart. Bouncing Souls Friday 15th March The Bouncing Souls started out in 1987 with the intention of playing loud fast three-chord party music. Their style of singalong, hard-hitting, and passionate pop-punk caught the ears of many, and for the past 25 years the band have charged through explosive punk rock songs that reflect on almost everything. Back with a new album "Comet" they're live in Birmingham this March!   Black Rebel Motorcycle Club Tuesday 26th March Black Rebel Motorcycle Club will be back on the road in 2013 and will be live at the hmv Institute as part of their tour. This follows the announcement that the band are set to release their first album since 2010's "Beat The Devil's Tattoo" in March next year. Swans Monday 1st April Led by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Michael Gira, Swans were one of the few groups to emerge from the early 1980s New York No Wave scene and stay intact. The band reformed the band in 2010 to release the much-acclaimed "My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope to the Sky", followed by 2012′s brand new album "The Seer". Don't miss them live in Birmingham.   Imagine Dragons Tuesday 9th April Las Vegas four piece Imagine Dragons hit the road in 2013, making a stop at the hmv Institute in April. Their latest release "Night Visions" continues to break the musical boundaries they explored on "Continued Silence", with the band combining anthemic rock songs with emotionally charged synth-based pop creating a sonic landscape like no other band. Catch them live in Birmingham! The Fratellis Friday 12th April The Fratellis are halfway there on recording their comeback album - and they want to reassure fans it's a return to their roots. The band has been working on the new record, since they announced their reformation in September, and the album will be out next year. They bring their tunes, new and old, to the hmv Institute in April.   Benjamin Francis Leftwich Wednesday 22nd May York-based singer-songwriter Benjamin Francis Leftwich has announced a date here in May next year! Benjamin's debut album "Last Smoke Before the Snowstorm" was Radio 1's and XFM's Album of the Week and as well as Album of the Day on BBC 6 Music when it hit shelves last year and new EP "Into The Open" is available on the 19th November.
